My Happy New Year Pantoum (repost) Behold this day a year anew Regale the dawn with welcome tide What e’er tomorrow may ensue Cast yesterday’s lament aside Regale the dawn with welcome tide Pine not for auld lang syne now spent Cast yesterday’s lament aside Apprised from time in precedent Pine not for auld lang syne now spent Life’s guarantee by moments found Apprised from time in precedent There’s surety in life’s redound Life’s guarantee by moments found Rejoice in each new morning ray There’s surety in life’s redound Foresee ahead enlightened day Rejoice in each new morning ray Futurity’s from past defined Foresee ahead enlightened day Embrace the new with open mind Futurity’s from past defined What e’er tomorrow may ensue Embrace the new with open mind Behold this day a year anew… Happy New Year to All |

Wonderful uplifting poetry Nan. ~*~ Your past is just a story. Once you realize this, it has no power over you. ~*~ |

There aren't many poets who can write one of these. I wouldn't attempt it. This is a masterpiece for sure by a master poetess. I hope this is published Well done, My friend Liz |

A pantoum is challenging enough, let alone an extended one. Well done. And a rich New Year to you, Nan! |

It seems that yet another year has passed, As once again, we wend on paths unknown, Guided by our memories past, each year recast, In seek of solace; to our sins atone. As once again we wend, on paths unknown through fog and bramble, more questions asked, In seek of solace; to our sins atone, Whil'st once again in to dark shadows cast. Through fog and bramble, more questions asked, No answers delivered, no mercies shown, Whil'st once again in to dark shadows cast, With memories, unable to disown. No answers are delivered, no mercies shown, Guided by past's memories, each year recast, With memories unable to disown, Alas, it seems that yet another year hath passed. Nan, saw your poem when I got home tonight. Haven't written in a while, thanks for the inspire. Happy New Year. |

How many years, now, have we known the grace of you....for me, it has been more like 14....and never do I tire of all of the grace you bring! |

Wonderfully written --- and in a way I for one not only couldn't write, but wouldn't even attempt. Much enjoyed, and may your year be the best yet, my friend! j |

I have never really liked rhyming poetry; however, I read this one again, just so I could enjoy it twice.... i'm glad it was my first read back. Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition |
