I haven't written about her in a long time. It is time. <><><><> I meander through my remembrances a guided tour to where I've been in times past these thoughts take me to peaks I have scaled and look down into the valleys of my life turbulent rivers and high seas hurricane-tossed I weathered them all looking back when there was you and I there was happiness just being near you touching you mesmerized by your goodness your beauty still . . . can't reminisce of those times without sorrow setting in when we were not together when there was no longer an "us" you put much more into "us" than did I a fact much too late learned Ah, these damnable thoughts won't leave me alone they persist in taking me where I'd just rather not go snatches of our tête-à-tête I am made completely aware that I was not worthy of your love you were the one that tried and tried again and continued to try while I— played at life the joker, Mr. Cool too much joker, too much Mr. Cool it destroyed the most precious thing even as you were reaching out for the man the joker, Mr. Cool was making you cry ©April 16, 2012 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

wrenching retrospect. It takes quite a man to claim/proclaim his mistakes. I'm glad you have come to terms with the past my friend. Lori |

Ah, thank you, Lori. Claiming and proclaiming my mistakes is too little, too late, but it is the only thing that allows me inner peace. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Yes, it is sad. I'd give anything to right it, but she died not knowing that. Thank you, Karen, for your kindness. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Raw but poetic and truthful. Many thought the musical comedy 'No No Nanette' was financed by the sale of Babe Ruth by the Boston Red Sox to The New York Yankees which was called the "curse of the bambino" because Boston never won a world series title for decades after the sale. Don't ask me why I included that in this comment.........Maybe I could see Jerry saying no no Nanette I really do care. Just weird ol me Jerry. Good write brother all the same.....smile..... Hi Eric, and thank you for stopping by. Haha! That was nonsensical funny about the Babe and Boston. What a trade, eh? And yes, much, much too late, I did scream No! No! Nanette! ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Wonderful and heartfelt write. Sorry for your loss on both levels. Glad to hear you were able to reunite with your children though. And... she knows and is probably smiling down on you. |
