(I lost my mom four years ago and so I wrote this in honor of her. Love you mom) Underneath the canvas of the night The iridescent moon glowing bright With the falling stars that make no sound I can feel your presence all around Left behind and wondering why It was so hard to say goodbye But knowing where you are right now Has brought comfort to us somehow Your sweet smile still lights up the night And lets us know that you're alright Your energy still fills the home In every single room we roam Your baby soft hands I held in mine Such comfort and nurturing I did find A smile on your face we always would see Such joy you brought to your family But it's your voice I miss most of all Every day I made a special call To check on you both and let you know I'm thinking of you and love you so Although you're gone and no longer here I still talk to you and shed a tear My secrets and thoughts to you I send Someday I know I'll see you again |

A beautiful tribute to a loving mother. Would that everyone would have such a mom to write poems about. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Thank you all for your kind comments. I'm sorry for your loss dreamgirl and Michaelmas. It's not an easy thing to go through. But great memories never fade away and keep the spirit alive. |
