           Poet’s Curse

I am trapped within a poem
a place of finest illusions
for a brittle heart to hide …
as I am the master of Time,
measureless beauty, truth
  and eternal love …
a true fool’s paradise
is this land of endless Spring,
where she walks with me forever
in the mystic moonlight
just before an ever-perfect dawn.

This is one of your best, Bruce. You take on a mystical-like tone to the poem and go with it. You use illusion within and illusion for the benefit of, and admiration of, those of us who read you.
