I Miss You |

I Miss You I miss that sweetness of your fragrance, and your delightful charm. I miss you reaching out to hold me, as we would walk hand-in-hand, or arm-in-arm… I miss your enticing smile, those little verbal slips, and especially your pouting bottom lip. I miss that treasure of knowing you, and the inviting pleasure of holding you… I miss you standing at my door, me unseen, watching you. And when our eyes would finally meet, I miss the way you would then say, ‘I can’t help it – I love you.’ Born to be an Irish rose, a sweet melody of Ireland. Your voice would blend as a cool washed spring, and I miss the adoring sound of you… I miss all that we had, and so much more, that which I, even now, cannot seem to say. I miss your love, that cozy-warm love lost, our true, true love of days past, barely a moment of days. Now, in this winter of my living, I am without you. I miss you so much. All that I have is that gravestone A cold tear stained lifeless stone, which has become a part of me, and now a part of you – When I think of you… When I think of you, my sweet Irish rose. Oh, how I miss you... . . . Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. |

Sad, JL, but with enough of the true feelings you shared with her to give it an underlying happiness throughout the poem. Very well-written is this deeply moving tribute to her. ~*~ I gave up feeling guilty just to survive a long time ago ~*~ |

Oh JL... how could I possibly come up with something to say to this? Words are sometimes flat, feeble little things, when they're wrapped around emotions as large as this. |

JL, To have experienced a great love, a true love, in your life, must have been the most wonderful blessing. I too am saddened by your loss. Ms. E |

Oh thank you that this is not real about you. I was broken hearted, honest and truly. I don't always read the responses, but am so happy that I scrolled down to yours. See, that is what you do to us when you write like this. I told you that you write special heart wrenching poetry. And, again, I was right. Right? This is poignant and so beautiful. Alison |

you know, JL, I try to remember to put the disclaimer "not about me" at the bottom of many a piece because I found out if you write, especially sad things, then it must be about yourself --- and so much of writing, to me, is about what you see, hear, feel around you, even if it's written first person, which much has to be to come across correctly, and not necessarily about yourself. That's not to belittle actual first person writing in any way - my heart to all that live the write. That said ... yep, sure happy it's NOT about you...(grin!) Again, much enjoyed the read. j. |

JL... I can think of so many people I wish I could send this too... so you'll have to suffice for me putting it in a safe place in my library... Thank you for this. |

After reading this poem I was about to send a heartfelt response, but having read some the other responses I found it wasn't a genuine event in your life. My reaction to that is, congratulations, it was such a convincing read, and I applaud it. Great poem. |

Thank you so much, Ron63. I'm easily inspired by almost any source. I'm not sure where this one came from, could have been a movie, a song, or something I read. But, to make it real enough to get even the slightest response, reflex, is what keeps me on my toes when writing. Again, thanks. JL Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. |

The first thing that popped into my head reading this was 'this guy is too cute'. Loved this read, made me smile from ear to ear. |

Don't get me wrong, it is very touching and very sad and I am lucky enough to not know of the pain you speak of. I am just saying that the love you put on display here is one that makes me smile. A big smile. A love deserving of such a shrine open to this adoring public. |
