How little do I know
and how much I just imagine Ali's world,
the fragile harsh and gentle beauty of the North,
where Life is not a given but a gift,
where, as I imagine,
for those who ask no more of Her than Life,
the North provides;
and how unforgiving it must be
to those who do not care for Life,
or will not see the beauty in all thing.s

Well I had to think of something otherwise, like the wicked witch of the west, when they threw her in the bathtub, I'm melting! I'm melting I'm me ... ... I'm me ... ...

Jaime, what a lovely tribute to the
northern climes, and especially for our Ali.

There is beauty in all locations, and in all
locations, one would hope others seek that very truth.

It is in the not seeking in any climate,
growing stagnate while the world unfolds,
that is selfish to the very person who looks
outward, and sees nothing.

You, my friend, whose vision is limited only
by his imagination, who sees more than others
might only guess at.

Dear Jaime ... my dear friend

Thank you so very much for these words that you shared here.  No.  Thank you for the mind and emotional capacity that is YOU, Jaime.  Your friendship means so much to me.  Living in Alaska has it's up's and down's.  Sunshine is right -  there is beauty every where.  But, there is something unique about Alaska, maybe it is sheer size ( don't tell Texas, but we ARE bigger)!

Jaime, far too often, we wait for people to die and then we write tributes, kind of like I having doing lately.  You, my friend, write tributes to those you care about while we are alive to read them and bask in them.  You are as unique and beautiful as Alaska.
