Soon Come & Gone

So you leave me a message
asking why its always you calling me
and not me calling you,
be realistic for a moment
and think about the situation honestly
and I'm sure the answer will come to you.

As I remember, in the beginning
we were going to both live in Hawaii
and then you went back to Chicago
for a reason that I understood
and sympathized with
but staying in Chicago
wasn't part of the plan.

Too many times I have ask
you when you were coming back
and the answer has always been "soon."
At first I believed you
because I wanted to believe in "us"
but now I know that soon was not
the truth, it was an excuse and I
refuse to be a part of this anymore.
Soon has come and gone
and I must go on too...

James, this just hurts...even though it
probably is and just;
still, it hurts. I'm sorry.

But it gives a lot of reason behind the seasons.
