Are you jaded, drab with a dying spirit? Can nothing charm you, excite? Open the door, stand in its exposed, look skyward toward those twinkling stars with brand new eyes. Scientists probe for answers of the beginning, thinking, erroneously, if they can find that they'll find a beginning as end to it all. In the real world of frozen water lines, dirty snow three days after, sorrow begets sorrow, where the ending is supposed to be. Standing in your doorway's frame you are unbounded, eternal. Like scientists, you too have questions. You wonder about your soul. Scientists never wonder about souls, but you do, deep down. Although it's an un-provable non-entity, and what can't be confirmed keeps us within ourselves. ©February 23, 2012 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

This poem reminds me that many times I over think...well, just about everything. It can be debilitating at times, when I allow myself to mash something to pulp instead of just feeling. |

Oh, please believe me, Nicole, I have the same problem. How much more simpler and how much better life would be if I didn't, as you say, "over think." Thank you for being here. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

I think poets are prone to overthinking.. and that is why their excess thoughts spill over into poems. ![]() |

Karilea, absolutely overthinking is many times the gist of a poet. <><><><> Yes, Lori, I think you, too, are correct. We can certainly over feel. I think that over feeling is called love. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

The mystery of it all is awe inspiring, besides being also mind boggling yes! "Infinite" is one of my favorite descriptions of what keeps us wondering. Great work, dear Jerry. Margherita |

Many thanks, Margherita, for your ever so kind comments about my search for truth and understanding. <><><><> Ms E, I am thrilled by your words. Of course you know to look with brand new eyes, the inner you must be brand new also. Much love directed toward your new person. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Very interesting, thought generating poem. Scientists only have assumptions based on logical and mathematical thinking that are turned in theories; yet have no concrete proof of how it all started. Science can never prove there's a God, yet science is born from religion and philosophy. As for proof of a God, only we can do that for ourselves. As for myself; I know God lives. |

Appreciate the input you have given my sometimes inept words, Ron63. God. He is many things to many people. I suppose He is something to me for I write about Him and question the reality of Him often in my poetry. I am also now in the beginning chapters of questioning Him in a novel that I have titled, "God! The Novel." ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |
