For the poet in front of himself,
a straw is a star,
a blade of grass is a city,
a woman is an answer.

He cannot write without reason,
on what see the hands,
on what take the eyes,
on what touches his heart,

For the poet in front of the sea,
every woman is a boat,
every kiss a sail,
every promise is an island.

For the poet in front of himself,
every feeling is a mountain,
a desire is a poem
which he writes to save himself.

You have summed the poet up in four concise verses. One could carry it further, but you have said what needs to be said and anymore would be frivolous.

". . . he writes to save himself."

True enough.
Well put, Sir.

every promise is an island.

I loved all your visions, dear Yann, and the above is my favorite.

A wonderful intuitive work regarding us poets.

Love,
Margherita
