~~~ Her battered cliffs eroding tell of timeless drifts of coastal swell As upward rising wholesome mist coheres with life's advancing fist ~ Above her gentle maples frown her autumn bliss now shades of brown Her glory fades through misperceives distorted crushed to rotted leaves ~ Across the mistral'd comber lakes her foehn of wistful soul awakes In deathless hush of cruel mistakes the gentle maple sighs ~~~ |
