'Twas the night before Christmas
And all 'cross the Net,
Were lurking the poets
I recently met.

The quatrains were written,
The free verse was parsed,
In hopes that one person
Would see our true hearts.

With pain in our rhymes
And joy in our verse,
We quickly logged off,
All to disperse.

While I, at my desk,
Recalled their kind posts,
And the forums we shared
On faraway hosts.

Amidst the tears that we cried
Were the smiles that we sent,
With the fears that we shared,
And the help that we lent.

One last poem this year
I feel I must write:
Merry Christmas to all,
And to all a good night.

Perfect poem for the blue room, and no one else could write it better . . . Merry Christmas to you and yours and a fantastic New Year.

Merry Christmas Ron... I've walked through your valley of rhyme, countless times without really calling it my home, but you have created a wonderful haven here and managed to grow and collect the most wonderful family. I'm always made to feel at home whenever I stop by to read or post a new poem. You've created an oasis, a hub on the wheel of internet poetry and all you asked in return was that we play nice and learn to respect each other. I like to think of PIP as a great success. Merry Christmas to all and God Bless.

Ron, yes indeed you have made a Haven for all.I have not been loud here but on the off and on days when I could. Not to post, as I know my limitations, but to read so many fine poems and thoughts as this is about the only place where everyone could feel comfortable. I remember the younger ones when they started to post and watched them grow. Your demands for peace and good behavior have kept it a safe haven all these years and I want to thank you for all you have done to keep it this way.

I did start reading here back in 1999 and have come back over and over again to read and enjoy the many good people you have attracted. Thank you and have a wonderful new Year. Jo Perry

Thanks for the kind words, my friends. I hope everyone had a really great holiday and ate substantially less food than I did.

We'll be Archiving Open Poetry #48 by year's end and opening a brand spanking new book in the pipTalk saga, so be sure to get your poetry ready.
