My Poetree

There was a time, (few years ago)
when friends lent me their words.
Quilted them and hung them up.
Then treed them to be heard.

Some friends are gone, but thoughts this year
have brought them back to me.
I'd love to share as many more
and add them to my tree.

These last few years have worn a bit.
It shows upon my face.
But with the snowfall, spirits raised
decided to embrace...

those quilted words once sent to me
of friendships, poets' made.
Wondering if others would,
their words, my tree,conveyed.
M

* It's been awhile  and I have forgotten how to post a picture of the quilted poems from the past that I made from poet's words and also have forgotten my photobucket passwords...must be an age thing

Awe, I would love to see that quilt. These days most sites have made it very easy to change your password. I'd click on whatever is their link for "Forgot Password?" and follow the instructions.

You are welcome to send me a short poem either for the Christmas season or other and I will add you to my tree. They are actually individual mini quilts with the poems hand  written on them.  If I can get a picture uploaded I will show a few on here.

Okay, I'll send you a senryu that ought to be short enough.

Oh, what a lovely idea, dear Maureen. Will see what I can create and send it to you.

I also know something about the "age thing"!! But with continued exercise we have more chance to avoid "decay"!!

Love,
Margherita

A lovely idea.Maybe you can pull up a few from the poets who have left us. Just put their name in search and they will come up and you can find one you like. Jo

Thank you, Jerry. I'm working on yours

Margherita, that would be wonderful.

Jo, I don't think I  can use poems from others without permission.  Some of the ones I already have on my tree are from those no longer with us who sent them to me back then.

Bruce, great to  have some time and patience again to be here. Thank you.

Ida,  I have even been rereading some of the ones I have  written in the past and have to check on here to see if I really  wrote them!   (The many moods of me

Naked Thoughts I had not thought of that. You are most likely correct.I was thinking if it was something for yourself and had their name it would be okay. You are wiser than I.
Best to you. Jo

ponderthepoetorrsx,thank you.

Michael, I have always admired the poets on here and felt this way I will always have my memories to think of when I  place the poems on my tree.

Kit, thank you. And anyone who would like to send a seasonal or even any poem to join the others, I would love to quilt them for my tree.

latearrival, I would just want to make sure that the poet would know that I had used their poem for this purpose only.

Ms. E and Gale, thank you. Now this has taken me some time to figure out again how to post an example on here: I hope it works.

Merry Christmas to you, dear Maureen. Well, I am really amazed by what you have created. I admire your skills and your patience in adorning your very special tree!

I thank you from my heart for honoring me by using my little haiku. I love both "new entries". You have used such beautiful colors too!

My compliments for this great idea again!

Love and hugs.

Margherita

Neat idea, M.
Combines quilts, which I love, and handmade ornaments, which I have enjoyed making.
I'll send something appropriate that you are welcome to use, if you see fit.
