in a lonely world of strangers one bright moon like hawks among the clouds so many dreams gone without a trace I send all my evening sorrows down this Autumn river of desolate silence By the twilight-waters edge an egret drinks the moon among ten thousand ‘endless’ mountain peaks one ancient mystic river In the ‘book’ of rocks a never-ending story___ boundless ages of “Deep-Time” cold-bright moon imperfect mirror of every dream ever dreamed By the long abandoned chapel ___ sunlight on a broken bell walking a Zen Tao beyond past and future there is only this moment of the ‘now’ that is real across too many miles so much perfect beauty in your heart and smile so much love then farewell too many miles of twilight sorrows --- b. e. adams (11/29/2013) |
