.
.
Somehow, this warped connection
consoles, as scarlet crawls
from both hit and run deer
and the brook's lost leaves

the color infusion
on a rainsoaked ground

juxtaposed,kindred souls

beyond the bend of the
hunter's cruel storm

Streams of tears for the darling deer and their fear and fright and agony and devastation at his/her/their unnecessarily injury or early death.  Beautiful poem, Emma, though.  Thank you for your compassion for them.

Oh, how horrible!  I had thought you were referring to the driver of the hit and run incident as the hunter.

unfortunately, both occur.
Deer are a plenty now, and this one that touched me, was victim to hit and run, but
his siblings very well were hit by the hunter.
I guess you can see I am not a fan of hunting
