O' would it be that I could see, far side of midnight's sky, But I am but a mortal man; earthen bounds shield my espy. Yet I ponder, what lies beyond, Polaris and his minions, With only dreams of what would be, found in gods' dominions. Swallowed by the evening's still, I yearn the rim of time, With Milky Way my night's foray, her welkin jewels sublime. Why can I not the skies traverse 'til I transcend the universe? For I am not a muse or god, Am but a man, this is my curse. Alone I sit in contemplation reflecting on my destiny Failing in of what I seek, still searching for eternity. |

Excellent poem and who could not relate to your searching! You expressed your emotions masterfully, Tim. I believe we are more than just human beings, but the great mysteries remain hidden to us in this dimension. Margherita |

Tim - I loved the craft of your expression in this piece, prime indicator of a poet's touch. I think the human species will always need to search for something it doesn't have with a relentless curiosity of how to solve it, get it or use it. It's in our nature to exceed and defy failure, even to the stars. Humans! You gotta love 'em sometimes. Nice work Tim. Much enjoyed. Namyh |

Ah, the dilemna of what it is to be "man." All the yearnings, and all the limitations, wrapped up into one lttle life span. I share your passions, friend. Michael |

I too ponder this over and over, and especially yesterday as I celebrated Serenity's life. It's funny the older you get, the more you WANT to believe. You have my brain cells working Tim. |
