Instead, These Thoughts What are these words that these thoughts bring as aging in this world does sting. A world in which "the more" keeps "less" from moving on to happiness. Who are those... that think the need of others aren't allowed to feed this hunger of a nation grown from those on top who haven't known The toughness of this changing world. Whose flag must not be theirs, unfurled. Secluded in their lives of "more" If only change was theirs to endure. I'd rather words of love...express, Instead these thoughts today...depress. M "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." (Will Moss) |

If only the US Government ( both parties) would think of those in need instead of politics and their divisive tactics. It's embarassing! M |

Agree with you completely, my friend. If only the constituency was smart enough to vote them , not only out, but make them toe the line while in. But they are to selfish for the most part. enjoy you, as usual. jimmy |

VERY well said! I'm a descendent of John Adams ... this current "corporate mediocracy" of the 'Runaway American Dream' is NOT at all the fully participatory 'Democracy' of Jeffersonian purity ... of, by, and for the people (as Lincoln put it) that the 'founding fathers' (men of the 'enlightenment') envisioned. It is now of, by, and for the ever-fewer/ever-richer, the megalithic corporate octopi, 'secret' societies, right-wing extremists, and their 'special interest' lobbies and puppet politicians. |

When you elect fanatical idealogs into office you should expect to get fanatic ideology for your money. Doesn't work well for the persistence of a democracy. Wake up voters! More poets should be writing about this - railing about it! Tanks for your poem, M. |

Thanks all. And K, I tell you that what really irks me now is that even our local governments are trying to short those who live in them. Being a senior citizen, I especially get tired of being blamed as baby boomers that we are the cause of so many shortages to come when for over 40 years most of us have worked and been taxed with the promise that those funds (ours) were being saved to help us during our "retirement" days. Where is all the money that was to be used for roads when they were needed year to year and the schools that need repair and updating? Why do they wait until there are pot holes and sink holes and buildings falling down or over crowdedness? The moneys should have been used as needed year to year and not when catastrophes are happening. In my area I see the wealthier/ newer homes getting their streets redone when there is nothing wrong with them while others of us who have lived in older but once the mainstay of the towns being forgotten when our alleys and roads need work. I know this is a little off my topic but I am so distressed over all governments including the local ones that I am becoming a negative person...something I never wanted to be. Anyway...off to work I go...to pay more taxes. M |

Well the poem was good and the subject matter important and you brought both together very well M..these problems are world wide and eventually the ''many'' may become sick and tired of the ''few'', these people should remember this, somebody once said in a song i believe ''they've got the guns but we've got the numbers, gonna win yeah were taking over..come on'' A thought provoking poem and i thank you for it...
