When twilight greets the end of day The fairy folk come out to play Awaking from their forest sleep Arising from the shadows deep They very soon will all take flight To dance upon the starlit night They play a soft and mystic tune While frolicking beneath the moon The nighttime air is filled with mirth As magic drifts across the earth They lightly float upon the breeze Sparkling there among the trees They dart among the branches high Chasing moonbeams ‘cross the sky They feast upon a stardust stew And drink the early morning dew Then as the sun begins to rise They stretch their arms and rub their eyes Returning to their forest beds To rest their tiny weary heads They’ll dream throughout the day so long Of nighttime filled with fairy song Then they will come again to play When twilight greets the end of day |
