NEXT TIME NEVER 4 October 2013 Next time a ship crashes my bows or more I will dive overboard and swim for the shore. When my heart skips a beat, by the Heavens above I will know it is failing not falling in love. Next time a man tells me it’s Monday I will know it’s between Tuesday and Sunday. Next time a man takes out a carving knife I will prevent him from robbing my heart of its life. Owl |

Wow, that hurts. That's just too much pain to endure in the name of love. I feel it, with you too. |

I love this piece, Owl! It's strong and firm, but kind. (Though I'm sure that true strength is always kind.) |

Powerful words! ... There do seem to be (way-too-many?!) 'bad boys' (or what I call 'male monsters') out there in this (ever-sadder?!) 'ol world ... but, not all of us. I would also state that you lovely ladies are perhaps most often (in my opinion) the best half of the human species ... |

NO Must not give up, Diana. There may be someone waiting for you on that shore you are swimming to. |

Thank you, Gale. However, I certainly have had times when I felt kinder than I do now. Thank you, Bruce, for your support. I wouldn’t know about what you say, though – you know, Mars and Venus and such. Thank you, Krawdad, for your sweet support and the smiley face. However, I am done now, for good. I think, at last, I have learnt my lesson. At last, I am tired. Owl |

Of course, I think as Krawdad, that we shouldn't give up love just because of that someone hurt us deeply. But the point is that love itself doesn't hurt. It's our illusions - they crash and it feels like pain. To be honest it's much easier to say than to survive ((( |

Thank you again, Gale, for your very sweet kind words. However, I am too old to be loved. I am 67 and no man loves a 67-year old woman, not even a 67-year old man, (except a man who has been married to one for decades), no matter how healthy and fit and full of energy and passion for life she may be. Besides which, I have been a lone wolf pretty much all of my life, even during my seven years of marriage and almost all my relationships. This last one felt very real until it crashed and burned . . . but I am happier on my own . . . no rollercoaster rides . . . just me and my cat and my dog . . . and I have enough problems to handle without rollercoaster rides. No, I am finally done. I keep saying that, but this time I mean it more than ever before. Owl |

Oh, Owl! You may be a lone wolf, you may love animals, you may feel disappointed, but I told about the idea of love, which people reject in despair. Now you may see no man around or in your thoughts, who could love you, but let's be honest: people don't wanna be loved because they start to relate love to complications and negative feelings, but it's not love itself. And I can't agree with you concerning that "no man loves a 67-year old woman, not even a 67-year old man, (except a man who has been married to one for decades)". I think that love doesn't depend on age. Self-interests - maybe, but not love. I can't believe in such obstacles as years. I love the man who is 23 years older, I loved him 25 years ago, now he is almost 60, and I will love him when he becomes 150 or 300. And I don't care about his old age or mine. I don't care about anything, 'cause he is the only man for me, it's clear. So am I done? Well, maybe... |

Thank you for your concern, Gale. However, there are only so many times that I can believe what men say. My animals never lie to me. My concern is for you, however. You are much younger than I am and you shouldn’t be done. Owl |

Thank you, Owl! I know that you are a kind soul. But if you concern about me, you can imagine how I feel. I'm 36. But he is not much younger than you. And if he thinks like you (actually he had such ideas), then I'm done. If he is done - we are done together. [This message has been edited by Gale (10-11-2013 10:19 PM).] |

'Re-visiting' this 'write' ... I simply 'know' [as my 'Native' (true) American brothers and sisters would put it] that true "Spirit-Mates" do exist 'out there' in the double-post-modern social/societal Western world 'wilderness.' I also have to believe there is one such "Spirit-Mate" for each of us ... sadly, whether said "Spirit-Mates" ever find each other in this life is another matter ... untarnished words With so much life and love forever lost and but fleeting moments, between past and future misty shores, to bridge the space between peoples' hearts, with what untarnished words could this poet touch your lovely mind and spirit to someday take another chance on Love? --- b. e. adams |
