He lost track of his thoughts that night.
The way he used to watch her wash the dishes
move through streets
night filled ease
with the same elegant pace
her mother used to do with her high, black heels.

Scotch, on the rocks
over the stainless steel counter
hair a bit disheveled
his button down a bit undone
hanging from his beige dockers
pockets filled with coins and scribbled notes

She used to yawn every morning
lightly,
traces underneath his slow breathes
turning her eyes towards the ceiling
a love that was insistent on staying
still searching for its purpose
meaning,
reaching for a dream
a princess,
along the lines of Christopher Wallace
the battle for a woman
unheralded,
gestured only by his heart

Its a path of no end
a dream;
the endless feeling of the oceans air
yet once every full moon
the spades of the sky trust fate
to bring the laces of the suns eyes
onto the bridge of love
