When the sun reaches it's apex and even the shadows run and hide I myself must go inside Without shade or clouds for cover from the light the sun becomes my kriptonite It seems to sap my strength and fill my my body with ache in the morning when I wake It has become an odd adjustment living in the long shadows of dusks and dawns Standing off under a tree while others chat in the sunshine It separates me like an allergy I pay the next day for afternoon rides on the Harley That peace to my soul takes its toll that I will happily pay for any day of the week It is better than riding the mower 'till I'm weak keeping the yard looking neat LGR(c)9/15/13 |

sometimes you just crave the warmth of the grey flannel; that brilliant light is just too stark, and exposing of what we don't want revealed (like wrinkles in my case thanks for the morning light and shade |
