The kind words that I hear keeps me writing to this day The kind words that I am told takes all the pain and sadness away The kind words that are said makes me want to keep making books out of my poetry for everyone to read Your kind words are what keeps the poetry alive in me When the family is together, the soul is at peace - Russian Proverb |

A few years ago one my of sisters told me that my poetry was crap. I won't deny that it hurt me. Her words devastated me and it took me a long time to claw my way back. After we began talking again, I told her that her words were the most hurtful that anyone had ever said to me. It's really hard when people target what you love to do. Who do you write for? I learned that I write for 'me'. I love to learn from others, but no one has ever torn me down here. I have only learned and I have only grown. So, keep your head held high. Write for yourself and for the love that you have of writing your poems. That is what matters. Hang in there. Alison |

"Your kind words are what keeps the poetry alive in me" That's a very nice thing to say. I think you speak for all here... JL Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. |
