I was walking down these lonely streets without a bit of food to eat. The clouds above were turning grey with no place to hide and no place to stay. Raindrops fell with cruel intent and one step later I was thoroughly wet. Where did all the people go? Don't look now! I told you so. Without a bit of food to eat my mind has no way to compete. Delusions, illusions everywhere. It took some time but I don't care when swearing at those who passed me by, who don't ask how, and won't ask why. I'm walking down these lonely streets without a bit of food to eat. eric m 2013 |

Eric, felt like a mouse in your pocket- a very miserable mouse. It is always a good thing to hear a voice from the street especially when we are too afraid of the answer we... "don't ask how, and won't ask why." Lori ![]() |

The eyes say it all. When somone in the position of that whom you write of looks out to one of us, how many of us are willing to look ino those eyes? How many more of us just shift our eyes to something... almost anything else, and beeline towards it, avoiding all possible interaction? Intriguing poem. Michael |

poetically ghetto - Sometimes when you walk down a city street and see your fear coming at you in the form of some wretched humanity, fright will have you thinking that there but for the grace of God go I and I don't want its contamination. So we avert our eyes. Human nature is a trip! You captured something heavy with this work and I most enjoyed it. Namyh |
