I heard of a soldier in war
He'd tell a joke and then he'd roar,
Nothing frightened him, n'er dark,
He happily marched; made his mark.

Inside trenches he found one day,
No food or water, maggots preyed,
He lost his laughter then his fun,
Bout his brains with his own gun.

And when Johnny comes marching home,
The young soldier never to roam,
They're not the same, they've seen too much,
They're home now, but a little touched.

it is almost like Americas dirty little secret that is just now coming to light the percent of the soldiers that are coming home disabled mentally and physically. It is devastating! War touches the soldiers and then the soldier touches the loved ones.

Good right!

Yes, Lori, I sure agree. Looks like we are about to get into another one. Thanks for your input.

war is never pretty is it?
they say it's necessary to preserve our liberty, well they used to say that..now I can only see its ugliness

How right you are Emma, they used to say that, but these days, especially the last six years I feel it is more about image than to protect a country which its own president disavows our principles and instead supports the other side. Case in point, the Muslim Brotherhood.

It isn't pretty, I know. Thanks, Ida, for stopping by and your personal input.
