I have a dream, I dreamed that the Middle East Listened to the singing) of its palm trees, caressed its fields of dates, spoke to the springs of cool water, I have a dream, I dreamed that the Middle East did not speak any more to God, as the perfect sun is not the fruit of oases, I have a dream, I dreamed that we could cross Damascus without praying God, that we could walk in Beirut by squeezing his child by the hand, that the Middle East turned to the future, smiled by picking fruits of the peace, by listening to the singing of its palm trees. I made a dream, I dreamed that the Middle East Listened to the singing of its palm trees. |

I love how the beginning and the end are the same, as well as the sense of peace the poem brings even describing such a violent region. |

Yes! To some, the "singing of the palm trees" is Holy and pure. Too bad the some aren't the all. Peace would take on a whole new meaning. This says so much! Fine write! Lori |
