Such are the shackles
of longing, the sky is
our parasol, connecting our
rainbow, birthed in the storm
painted rhapsody, where
we are pawns, lovestricken fools
stymied by timezones in the
quicksand of distance, you
on the east, me facing west
where even our hearts cross
in the scat notes of disarray,
while we wait an eternity, to lay
in our brass bed of fulfillment
for the resting of our souls,
longing, waiting.
