This is basically what I was told on Lulu.com. I am so frustrated I could cry. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have been told in not so many words that my poetry basically sucks Lines of words that are strangely placed that never rhyme Your poetry sucks as plain as day plays through my mind like a bad song Your books shall never be sold Your poetry is the worst I am told over and over again You have no future Get a life and move on When the family is together, the soul is at peace - Russian Proverb |

You know, we all told we suck at sometime and it hurts. However, you have to wonder at the agenda of people who would say that to you. I don't think your poetry sucks. I think it reflects who you are. Who are the Poetry Police? Perhaps their insecurities are showing. People are petty and mean. Keep your chin up. You created something -- and that is a wonderful thing. Alison |

This makes me want to type out long list of cuss words because, as Alison said, who are the Poetry Police? Delete the comment and move on. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

People who offer words like that, are often just out to hurt. Don't give them that. Does it hurt? Yes... but you had faith in your writing enough to post it there, to put it out, and to put it here - you KNOW what your talent is, so own that. Be strong, and ignore those that would try to stumble you along the way. |

Thank you for all your kind comments. What that person told me lat night made me feel real bad. I shall survive to write another day. I shall write more books. I have actually written 3. Only 2 are up for people to buy right now. If you want the new and improved links to my books you may contact me. When the family is together, the soul is at peace - Russian Proverb |

Well, Lulu's just another publisher, not even a badge carrying member of the Poetry Police. If you get turned down by a publisher, you're in pretty good company. If you get turned down by a whole lot of publishers, you might be in very, very good company. Publishers aren't inherently evil, they just have a terrible track record when it comes to picking winners or discerning quality in poetry or prose. It was just somebody talking. Write it off and write on. Best, Jimbeaux |

If I were you I would stay off Lulu.com. You have every right to write if you chose to and the more you write the better you get. ida |

Thank you for your kind comments. I am still writing. My books are still able to be bought. I have just been ignoring the message boards. I know now my books will never live up to their standards. But I still hope beyond hope that someone will buy my books just because they like what is in it. When the family is together, the soul is at peace - Russian Proverb |

Forget Lulu.com! I use Xlibris.com to pulbish my childerns book and they were great to work with. I'm now working with them to publish my first book of poems. Keep writing! If you like it then that's what counts because it's you and it's part of who you are and nobody can take that from you. I like your writing especially about you cats. I have 4 purr-babies myself. Some of the best poems probably lie in dark drawers somewhere never seen by anyone other than the author You cannot please everyone all of the time, and when it comes to poetry it is difficult to please anyone most of the time. You have a talent keep on writing Michael |

we can all relate sweetie - poetry is from the heart and soul, poetry is written because we FEEL, sharing our thoughts, reflections, memories, moments and emotions through poetry. It does not matter how it's written, whatever form, it is someones way of showing others just how they are feeling, I think that if people cannot take from that, something then they're worth nothing. dear lady, please keep writing, we love your post's - floating my winged ~hugs~ your way. Love is the life of the soul... |
