where the wild flowers grow

Tonight
we ran.

We ran our hands through the wind,
and braided the night.
The satellites blink like fireflies,
the stars blend and melt in the sky.

Tonight
we sang.

We sang old songs we thought we had forgotten,
and we rewrote them until they blurred
into the thin line between our voices
and the faded cricket chirps.

Tonight
the cool air felt like the touch of autumn,
and we ran

we ran right through it.

Yes. Oh yes indeed. Back drop feeling take us there as did you in this wonderful poetic offering.

This one wound me round right back to my teen years. Lovely writing, Meghan.
