When a friend like you
beloved to all,
whose kind and caring gentleness
will forever bless
our coming out and our going in;
whose silvered poetry
tinkles the keys
of our hearts
with its music;
paints the skies
with pictures undreamt;
wraps our souls
in soothing waterfalls;

when such a friend
departs for eternity,
and I most need
my words,
I
lose
them
all
and have
only
useless tears
to offer.

Well, I have no favorites on this subject - other than Helen of course. I think it's wonderful that everyone is writing to/for/about her, and beautifully so . . . so I'm just going to add this to everyone's piece so you'll know I was here, read, and experienced again, the tears for her...
