Or So

Those sunny days that caused such pause
in squinted gaze at loose faux pas
of clothing skimped have dropped the jaws
and left my eyes still burning
ten years or so I’m learning
it’s great to venture on a beach
where dreams are kept still well in reach
and body parts perked like a peach
have not yet turned to stubble
but only shout it’s trouble
when times do blot out all our dreams
that we had dreamt while in our teens
and what was then went unforeseen
ten years ago
or so.

Oh my goodness...I absolutely love this.. awww..the color of dreams.  I don't know, time changes thiings...but there is a sotness in those lighter shades of pale.

Wonderful poem, LHB

They are indeed, dear Bob. This is absolutely beautiful, with its touch of melancholy, but also of acceptance.

Thank you so so so much Lori, Margherita, and Kit for your reading and your kind and uplifting replies. Thank you. Thank you for noticing my softer side, my melancholy and acceptance sides, and, also, my attention to form and detail sides that you've jointly discovered in my writing and, again, I do, I do appreciate each of you and each of your replies so very very much. Thank you.
