We let the eyes say it
on the nightengale's highway
where rocks rolled over
storm littered treasures
in the trenches where snows
buried forget me knots
on the pause at the overpass
knowing between then and now
yonder and the red eye to heaven
we'd never go further than now

blues yearning browns
lash upon lash

we let the eyes say
what the hearts would surmise
just as our moment collapsed, mid flight

Ouch... didn't see that ending coming. Love where the poem was coming from though... the eyes can say sooo much. They can smile. They can demean. They can embrace. Enjoyed the read.
