Andy

He wore a mask, he bore a flask—
Walked a walk of impunity.
He told no lies, ‘cept in the eyes
Which spoke to us immunity.
Picture of strength, he loved at length,
And opened his home up to all.
But when in need, what friends indeed!
Each turned away and let him fall.

For fifteen years, through blood, through tears,
He showed us how to walk it straight.
With principles, and golden rules—
All that talk of preordained fate.
What did it take for him to break?
Guess it’s true we may never know.
But without him, the sun shines dim,
Lost to some melancholy glow.

Oh, brother fair, caught in despair,
The world gave you but crooked dice.
They took, it’s true, all that was you,
And left a shell to pay the price.
Please forgive me what I couldn’t see—
That day found both of us on knee...
To look back now, I don’t see how
It could have went down differently.

But I know the traps of days that lapse,
Dancing those specters of adorning.
So tell me true, who you waking to?
Can you really respect that come morning?
I know you’re there, hiding somewhere,
And maybe think I’m miles above you.
But we all fall down, just turn around,
God bless it, Andy, I still love you!

And that you fell back to this hell,
I’ll not be one to forsake you?
I give my hand, that you might stand,
But brother, you know I can’t make you.
I know your doubts, inside and out,
And that together, we can face them.
The lives you’ve touched need you so much,
Please come back, brother, embrace them.

Michael, this speaks past losses, past suffering, past grief.

It speaks of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Any human who has a need to understand, to reach any sort of logic in this illogical world, should read this.

I submit to you, my friend,...please find a way to publish this, to push past your own pain and hurts and frustrations....this speaks to so many truths.

Bless you, my friend.
