He took his shirt off
the scars
targets of the snow banks
that mirrored his tears
for the sun began to peak
as the morning began its rise

His skin
shades of black
under his eyes

unsettled
his arms became rather thin
much like the narrow alleys
close to his third floor apartment

His hips slowly dipped
began to cave in
his pants falling farther and farther
and fathers telling him its going to be alright

But the truth of night
pledges ones sight
to a different scene
where just a few moments
can seed a scar far deeper than the speed of light

Father says its going to be alright
but this isn't he days of a young, kindred spirit
taking his fathers curls
and hopping onto his lap

This time he can't promise
everything will be alright
a hug, even if just as tight
can't break this mans chamber of thoughts, anymore.
