Sometimes the darkness
just swallows you up
like a black hole in space,
chews you up a little,
and then spits you out
onto a never ending sidewalk
where you become stuck
on the bottom of some random shoe.
Sort of soul to sole,
you might say.

Hah! Ida, this was exceptionally well thought out and rendered. Life is a . . . I've heard, and I am proof that it is, although lately I'm enjoying the other side of it, and wary of a relapse.

Thank you all for your comments. I am usually a pretty upbeat person but I think this stifling heat was getting me down yesterday.
I'm a bit more cheerful today.
