       Balm of the Wilderness

Clear-bright moonlight parts
an ebony cloak of tremulous stars
over sharp-black mountains standing
   silently
as ‘Deep-Time’ sentinels of the
   infinite cosmic void,
while a wild evening wind sings
its sweet-forest Summer song
to  countless  trees dancing with
their leaves full of starlight,
and a million infinitesimal hidden
creatures of the night.
Here, where fame, glory
and ‘progress’ matter not,
there is only the boundless balm
of tranquility for all sanable wounds
of the restless mind, wounded spirit,
   and broken heart.

Goodness gracious, dear Bruce, this is a miracle balm in all its spectacular beauty.

Truly magical.

i'm enjoying how you word your poems, it gives off a peaceful lull to the flow.
