Stop crying, honey.
As the years roll by,
you'll wonder
what you ever saw in him.

Somewhere along your future path
he will fade
into the shadows
and become a painless memory.

Just a footnote
at the bottom of the page
as you write the story
of your life.

Some of the best advice I've ever read, Ida.

Perfectly expressed and so true, dear Ida, and well do grandmothers to give such wise advice (though at the moment ears and hearts of young girls seem to be out of use, as the lacrimal ducts remain overactive!).

Hugs.

Words of wisdom, though very hard to appreciate for the younger generation.  There is much beauty to the truth you bear.

Grandmas are the best aren't they?  When there words of long ago come to light and bring us sanity within the storms

Lovely words to her, my friend . . . and though I totally agree about the memory, mine aren't always painless. Thirty-nine years with my wife and still ache with some of those memories . . . Guess I'm too soft!
