there are times she can be full of sass
with a twinkle in her eyes
a smile on her lips
can get down and dirty
but she has class
such a lovely woman
she comes fully equipped
to keep dark memories from back then
down and out of sight
a clandestine affair gives her peace of mind
she has beaten all the odds
and wears a crown
though personal grief with gloomy clouds entwine
she is profound
her words captures that
and she's a jewel in every sense
I love her
and I'm filled with joy
when she calls me Pat
as I turn my eyes toward her
she almost seems to purr
this woman gives my heart
something extra I know
and I like to think of me as her beau

Your love poems are great to read.  Like your other poetry they pull you in and the feeling is tangible.  I'm so happy for you that you have this love in your life.  It seems to suit you.

Ah, Margherita, you said the magic words, "touch of youthful passion," because yes, that is how she makes this old guy feel. Thank you for your kind comments.

Nothing quite like being smitten, and the feeling of knowing you still can be.  Especially as the years take their toll.

Happy for you, my friend.
