All dressed up in designer greed
with the emphasis on vanity
rather than need.
So impressed with designer labels
topped off with chinchilla, fox or sable.
I can't help but wonder,
Can she really think
that she needs that fur coat
more than the mink.

I would imagine she doesn't give much thought to the mink, Ida, just the mirror.

fine 'social impact'/social conscience 'write' !

that's the 'Runaway American Dream' (the land where the entirely self-focused
worship at the altar of the almighty dollar bill) ... Those (few) that got it, flaunt it !

The (already chasmic) dichotomy between the ever-fewer rich and the ever greater
number of poor is perpetually widening

As an animal rights advocate, your poem is
a great representation of that feeling of mine

I think it would be very interesting to see what the dear little animals would look like in her skin.  Good for you, Ida!  You, go girl!  Well done!  Couldn't agree with you more!

Ya know, it's just silly if you ask me, and it says alot about a person.

Well said, Ida. Someone has left a fur coat here for me to store for them - gives me the creeps. Can't even touch it let alone wear it.

I agree with the others here, definitely, the mink needs it more than the minx! Enjoyed!

Wow, the cruelty of man, for vanity, makes me shake
my head in sadness.
Well done, Ida.
