Lying in bed whispering lies beneath the sheets how easily from his tongue they fall sliding wetly across your skin like a snake and sometimes touching more than one place at a time making you believe it really is forked moving in a downward spiral seeking out your most vulnerable spot slowly sucking you in as is the way of all lies each one slicker than the one before relentlessly sliding into your soul filling the emptiness you hold deep inside and as the lies come quicker, so do you then lying back you lose control as you scream out the words that are not a lie then suddenly you find yourself lying alone in the tangled sheets now damp and soiled by all the lies yet wishing he were back lying once again with you. |

As you well know, at one point in my life, your poem easily told my story. If this was to happen to me now, "his" next poem could be titled, "Dying in Bed." .......................just sayin.. I could live another 50 years and be perfectly happy to never read this one again, sweetness. |

I thought it was a fun play with the word "lie." Enjoyed! |
