Leaves That Fade

The bed we made
the sheets are leaves that fade
the words we said are making me feel
like you were faking
maybe you're fading too
maybe we're all fading
into blue

The smiles we shared
have withered to November fair
the world we were sharing
I'm lost and I can't find my bearings
back to you

The time we take
can delay the inevitable break
that will tear you away from me
maybe it's meant to be
oh no but I don't really care
I'll still wish to be there
with you

The words we'd trade
have fallen like leaves that fade
a frown painted on the side of my dream
but still I am waiting
nervously anticipating you
to keep me from fading
into blue

The smiles we shared
have crumbled without a care
the world we were daring
we've lost and this heart I'm carrying
will never come true

The bed we made
the sheets are leaves that fade
the words we said well they made me feel
like nothing seems real

Maybe you're feeling too
there's nothing left for us to do
but fade like leaves back to blue

Oh no but I don't care
I'd still wish to be there
for you
