He saw her - struck a knightly pose
She saw him - tossed a flaming rose
His heart caught it - singed the mark

Better singed - than dark...

Ouch indeed!
Better to feel than not do? but to what extent. Yes, Love hurts, but is it real Love?
Thanks for the food for thoughts this morning, I enjoyed through the pain

I wonder sometimes if we don't give too much credit to love as to where it works or fails. Still, I have to admit that being singed is better than never being touched by it.

Thank you for stopping by and commenting.

To what extent, exactly. But there is no guarantee in anything, no preclusion of pain. We take chances everyday, risks we do not even consciously register, or think of.
As for myself, given a chance between a heart devoid of “light” (love), or being ‘singed’, I will take the latter.

As to whether it’s ‘real’ love – well, we don’t really know the depth of the pool till we jump in…

(P.S. Using a dipstick does not count…LOL)

Enjoyed your additional pyromatics and, um, Yep, agreed, it's hard to find a good 'dipstick' nowadays, but, hey, it's probably best to do the jumping without one, because, um, After all, many times it's the dipsticks who get the girl. Anyways, enjoyed your poem. Really, really I did!
