A MOMENT ENCAPSULATED
5 April 2013

Silver-grey swirls
into shades
of a million
soft-changing
furtive blues

and I fly
and cry
and sing
memories
buried
beneath the mountains
and under the sea

and lost opportunities
that fade into
overflowing gratitude
and stabbing joy

and undeserved peace
that falls
from the arms
of grace
and a kind word
here
and there
and just behind me
in a whisper
and around the corner
of past despair

and the sun smiles
spontaneously, wide-sky warm
for a moment
of
pure
unadulterated,
quivering,
pulsing,
throbbing,
life.
