I know what's said of me in certain circles I even know the words that they use I know the things on certain tongue Know their angles and have perceived their views I've wanted to speak out in my defense Saying you don't know where I've been And that although I know my story thus far None could ever say really where all this will end But I know for sure and certain That had it been you Walking in this life Living in my shoes And I can say without ever doubting it That you wouldn't have made it through I don't truly believe what you say about me Though in my heart I fear it's true And there, and only there, lies the power to hurt me More than I can ever put words to I owe you no explanations And I owe you no truths Because even in my glorious mess It's clear to all and sunder That I'm still happier Still more contented than you **************************************************** "I'll tell you how the sun rose A ribbon at a time..." - Emily Dickinson |

quote: . . . and THAT is the gist of the poem. Wagging poems and shaking heads, Is nothing for me to dread. ~*~ If they give you ruled paper write sideways . . . ~*~ |
