In the lowland of the swamp, No ceremony, no pomp. But a white dove sings her song, It cheers my heart, makes me strong. It feels so good to love her, I can almost hear her purr. Even so, darkness creeps in, An ill wind beyond the bend. My darling has a price to pay, She lives in sadness each day. If she would see this she'd cry, Her delight has gone awry. I'm here for her, she can see, Wish I could take her pain for me. I long for her loving cheer, But she lives in complex fear. I'm saddened to observe this Anguish, when there should be bliss. ~*~ If they give you ruled paper write sideways . . . ~*~ |
