It is not a word that falls easily from my tongue one so full of meaning but also empty and hollow it can be the key that frees your heart or it can wrap your soul in chains heal the wounds of lonliness or make you bleed to death it will shield you from all your pain but quickly as the razor's edge it will cut your heart in two it calls forth tears of happiness or drowns you in a sea of grief it will blind you to the truth or guide you through the dark ethereal as the morning mist yet it stops you in your tracks it is everywhere and nowhere and many of those that seek it out will leave with empty hearts and many of those that find it will empty their hearts of it so pray, tell me now why must I say this word when with my kiss you have tasted what has been silently waiting on the tip of my tongue all this time and by now you should know it is my love for you unspoken. |
