Home again As did we in youth, the Holly laughs at Winter flaunting green beneath a vaulting leaden sky of Wintry blasts and falling snow that hushes all in tumultuous silence, carpeting the dead ground of withered leaves and broken promises with astonishing art. Here and now our dreams of love and Spring are but shadows in a looking glass … beyond our touch and there is no way home again. --- b. e. adams (2/9/2013) [This message has been edited by secondhanddreampoet (02-10-2013 08:31 AM).] |

A beauty of a poem, Bruce. I especially liked the personal touch you incorporated into the wintry scene you drew for us. The "broken promises" and the dreams at the end gave the poem a definite human touch. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Exquisite, as usual, Bruce. I loved your portrayal of the weight of winter and the memories and the undertones of longing and the wealth of miniscule detail in your inimitable, minimalistic style. Owl |

Lovely words Bruce...The Last lines brought a tear to my eyes. Enjoyed. Here and now our dreams of love and Spring are but shadows in a looking glass … beyond our touch and there is no way home again. ~Victoria |
