FORGOTTEN STONE
8 January 2013

The night closes,
slow and distant,
icy on this hot night
for that
is
how
it
is

and
silence
paralyses
what
is
no
more

and
dawn
lies
strangled
where
she once
did sing.

Wow.

That last stanza made a murder seem beautiful.

I don't know how you managed that.

and I confess that the effect of it was so striking, I have trouble with your title, and ooh ooh, I know you, and I know it's the key.

Oh Diana, you speak so eloquently of the intricacies of others minds, and the beauty you find in them, I have to wonder if you didn't see what I saw once: a meteor hitting a dark star, and bouncing off in two...

(Nod. I had to have a really intelligent neighbor explain that to me!)

An intriguing write, and I do love the drip down effect of the word placement.

Smiles, Karen, of the intriguing mind.  No, it wasn’t a meteor, and it wasn’t somebody else’s mind this time . . . but you are right about the title.  Mysterious smile.  Praise from a mind such as yours and a poet such as you, especially with the detail you give and the interest you show, makes me high! Huggles!

Thank you, Jimmy.  I appreciate your comment very much.  Smiles.
