A Tempest And A Drought |

Her tender touch but only once I felt -- A wafting breeze would ever less alight Than that brief, evanescent brush she dealt Upon my frame, my reason did benight. For 'tis a phantom spell shall ever bind The heart and soul betwixt a sense and dream -- She touched - bewitched - then vanished quick behind A faint mirage no craft shall true redeem Nor forge to life what shall in mist remain -- Yet - these gossamer chains within I toil Of mine own deed - then breach her own domain! Surge my tepid blood to a roiling boil! For who in love shall claim without a doubt A tempest is not better than a drought? CG [This message has been edited by CastleGuard (02-04-2013 08:38 AM).] |

And I am sure that is true CG...A cute one indeed...I always enjoy your words my Canadian friend. I was only in Toronto once but I liked it alot. ~Victoria Be not ashamed of mistakes and thus make them crimes. |

A choice of words which aptly described the "better loved and lost, than never to have loved at all" phenomena. I agree completely with that old adage and the revision of it therein . . . ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Oh, surely it must be! At least a tempest can still bring about life; drought tries to kill it. The unique phrases are extremely intriguing. I do desire an explanation of "benight." Whether on the shoal or on the shore, I'll seek the lighthouse evermore. |

Victoria - thank you, and glad you enjoyed my words (as I do yours...). Nice you got to visit Toronto, though the real good stuff is outwest here, i.e. the mountains - heh...hope you will get a chance to visit sometime... Jerry - thank you for stopping by and your observation...got that right. VAS - Nice to see you stop by and visit - thank you for the comment and the request - I have made a small edit / correction to help clarify the meaning. CG |
