Torn from dreams in sweat and shake,
I wake to faces inside folds of time
and scream my guilty innocence;
I am always who I've been
demanding to be tried or freed,
I have no need to stay suspended
in web of haunting cold awareness,
fragmented consciousness drifting
sifting through sharp winds of quickening,
knowing now no hope of sleep
inside my keep naught but Wolf Moon
howling in my soul.

damn, baby.

I don't know which is more painful--howling, or trying to swallow one down.

You are so intense.

Though tormentors will wake thy sleep
they themselves shall forever weep
in lucid daydreams cleansing and deep.

"I have no need to stay suspended
in web of haunting cold awareness,"

Sometimes our needs are of no importance to ... what? ... the soul perhaps.  It's easy to put some things down to "nightmares" but we are still left wondering and then, of course, sleepless.

Someone unseen but perhaps known once said to me in a similar experience to yours - "Don't worry about it" and I guess that's good advice.

My best to you, Charly.

quote:
and scream my guilty innocence

Such power in your words, dear Charly. Inner turmoil is stirred by the Wolf Moon and yet I hope its radiance may erase those ghosts from the past and embrace you in peace.

You say it: guilty INNOCENCE. We can forgive ourselves for what life has put us through and for our actions induced by circumstances independent of our will.

Terrific poem.

Love and peace.

Enjoyed reading your words,as the moon can rule the tides it can rule us...if we let it..it seems to get the wolves attention too.

this is insightful, yet not indulgent or self serving.
Very appreciated here
