Waiting For Valentine's Hand parchment paper, gone ivory with age rolled slight and with silk ribbon engaged waiting, waiting, for one fair hand to unroll, and read, and know love grand… long rent of desire, a love's long ago lines were written of a beloved, just so a dream of a dreamer, for he dreamt well had fallen in love under a winsome spell in candle's light, with blackest ink he wrote his heart, till dawn pinked in glow of day, he pursued his search no salvation found, nay, not even church so he wrote his heart, and forth it poured 'till in black line his parched love soared he penned till beads of sweat dripped down for ecstasy in pure love he had found and in the night, the blackest of shadows his love came forth, in fever it glowed and he passed on, in his love most content only parchment hid his words, well spent… parchment paper, gone ivory with age rolled slight and with silk ribbon engaged waiting, waiting, for one fair hand to unroll, and read, and know love grand… 02.04.01 Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

. . . and now you know the REST of the story . . . Beautiful story, exquisitely rendered. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |

Sunshine, you pull me in by the heartstrings, and I come away with tears in my eyes. History is so full of those who write their hearts, if not on parchment, then on the wind, and it goes unread. As poets we surely come to the essence of the music as it lays itself before us, in the pulse of fingers and Valentines. Lovely work! |

Beautifully written, Sunshine, and the way you wrapped it up by beginning and ending the sam makes it even more appealing. Happy Valentine's Day, K! ![]() |

Oh, I love how this reads...love story/ballad. It has perfect cadence for the theme. Music with a somewhat dark overtone, but not overly so. The wait has been long, and yet it seems the waiter is still able to, and that the chance "for one fair hand to unroll, and read", is still there. That may be overly optimistic, but romance, sometimes doesn't make sense.. Love the poem Ms. Karilea |
