Bright Green Tree Turned Blue (The Children of Sandy Hook Elementary) On this tree whose leaves fall like rain, whispers of sound on presents unclaimed, ribbons have come unfurled, lights have dimmed - burned out, and Christmas balls leave shattered remains on carpeted floor. Bright green tree turned blue, despairingly shades to black - the loss of the Children, this Christmas Day. ~~ My heart cries for the children, and cries for the families and friends of Newtown, Connecticut. ©wesley james beard, jr. december, 2012 [This message has been edited by jwesley (12-21-2012 10:25 PM).] |
